Vinci Hair Clinic Scotland were recently were approached by A Scottish Subaru Team with an opportunity to sponsor their team, and in the process, raise awareness of the revolutionary baldness treatment; Scalp Micro Pigmentation.
James McEleny, the driver and owner of his Subaru team, tells us about the first day of competition with the Vinci Branding on his Subaru: “We started the day 4 points behind the class leader, not an impossible task, but after the first warm up session (no points available) I noted that the class leader was posting some impressive lap times.”
“We were all running in reverse direction, which does not suit the set up of our car, so we were at a slight disadvantage from the outset. Our car was running well though, no problems at all.”
“The qualifying was run over 2 sessions of 4 laps each. One car released on track at 20 second intervals. I pushed the car as hard as I dare, driving the car on the edge of its ability, sometimes putting a wheel or two onto the grass or gravel. After qualifying, we finished just one point behind the class leader, having posted very good lap times. Just 4 hundreds of a second off my Personal Best time for normal clockwise direction.”
The excitement then built for “The Final” one lap shoot out, with the Best time taking the Championship.
“It was a very intense tune for me made worse as I was held on the start line for 7 minutes as the track was being cleared of Debris. I could hear the commentator racking up the pressure informing all the spectators, this would be the most important lap of my year”
“Released onto the track, and with Knockhill’s biggest audience figures since the British Touring Cars, every corner had to be taken with maximum attack, control and precision. Not easy in a 300 plus horse power Subaru. The lap was perfection, rising to the challenge in style and posting one of my fastest times of the day, it was enough to secure the Championship.”
“It later transpired the class leader had exceeded track limits and his time was disqualified, this wouldn’t have effected the outcome in any case as my lap time was enough regardless.”
Vinci Hair Clinic is proud to sponsor the team throughout the remainder of the 2015 season and into 2016.
